Snowblower spring for Lgt165 (72-83?)

Hey all,
Looking for a part number or length for a couple springs for the Ford 2 stage snow auger (09JC9806). I'm looking for the idler spring, and the counter balance springs. I had a look in the files section and couldn't find anything. Barring any part numbers, the lengths would be fantastic, and I can make do.
Cheers,
Bret

Bret,

What is the year of the snow blower? I want to see if it’s the same as my Jacobsen 2 stage blower.

I'm assuming it's the same-ish years as the tractor (72-83), not sure if there's a serial number plate on it.
That's it in the background of that helps.

Sorry but it’s totally different then my 1964 snow blower.

Short answer: counterbalance springs 10" long, measuring coils only, not including loops or handles.  Let me know if you need that data.

Long answer:
My two stage snowblower came with my tractor (open side LGT 145) and a manual stating part number 09JC9895.  I do not have a parts manual, but recently spotted one on eBay and ordered it.  I'm happy to scan that manual when it comes in, as well as the operator's manual I already have.  I suspect the part numbers will not be helpful though, a lot of water under that bridge.  I don't know if that data is already in the files section as, embarrassingly, I can't find the files section.

I need an idler spring as well.  I'm also interested in any dimensions on that, but I suspect it's going to be a bit trial and error no matter what.

I found the following forum discussion where folks mention using a bailer door spring.  I'm not sure if this is for the counterbalance or idler.  I suspect counterbalance...

Thanks folks,
That helps a bit. I mostly worried about the idler spring, without it, the roller drops to the ground and I really don't want to be driving and have it drop down and catch.
The other forum was helpful (partly), cause I'm in Canada, so at least knowing that Princess Auto has a part is good...would have been nice to know which part though. Oh well. Trial and error here we come!
